Tall mountains behind
Orcas spyhop and sing as
Moonbeams sparkle bright
Inspiration for the piece:
The southern resident killer whales are one of the most iconic symbols of the Pacific Northwest. The extended families of intelligent, beautiful, wild animals who remain critically endangered with only a handful of family members remaining from J, K, and L pods. These earrings are the first in a series of tributes to these amazing creatures who depend on our conservation efforts to survive. The wood frames are complemented with moss agate, opal, and blue apatite stones.
Where it’s been:
Twin Falls State Park: Dusk has settled and wavelets lap at the sandy shore. The orcas seem to leap out of the water in joy, enjoying the moonlight reflecting off the deep blue water.
